It’s hard to believe that 2014 will soon be over and we’ll be ushering in a new year. It always amazes me when we get to this point in the year; I always wonder how we got here so quickly. Where, after all, did the year go? As I get older it seems as though time marches on faster and faster. Perhaps it’s because we’re so caught up in our daily life of work and daily chores, that we don’t take the time to stop and savor the moments in our life that are truly meaningful.
Throughout our lives together, Dave and I have been truly blessed. The majority of our working life has been spent moving from state to state, working contract to contract; however, where-ever we were stationed we had the good fortune to meet some truly fantastic people and strike up long-lasting friendships with them.
For Dave and I, 2014 was a year filled with great changes in our life as we set about implanting our plan for an early retirement. For me, retirement began at the end of August and Dave’s began in the middle of October. Shortly thereafter, our dream of living life on the road in a motor coach became a reality and we have enjoyed each and every minute of it. Oh sure, there have been minor inconveniences along the way, like having to have the windshield of the motor coach repaired twice (still waiting on a third replacement); the thermostat regulator to our refrigerator going out during a torrential rain storm right around the Thanksgiving holiday; and discovering a leak in our bedroom slide that soaked our carpet (during the same torrential rain storm); and finally learning how to set up the coach electrical systems for mobile and park modes, etc., etc. All of these issues, and the future ones that I’m sure we’ll have to deal with, go with the lifestyle of living life in a motor coach. Issues or not, both of us are excited to see what 2015 has in store for us as we continue our journey.
To each and every one of you, we wish you love, laughter, prosperity, good health, and happiness in the coming year. We are so grateful to have each and every one of you in our lives.
